Friday at the 2009 South Norwood Arts Festival

Tonight, there is a chance tonight to catch an updated version of PPR's very own John Hickman's fascinating talk on the history of South Norwood. There is also the first of two opportunities to see St. Mark's Players new show, live music from an emerging talent and from amateurs, poetry and a revue of show tunes.

PPR founder John Hickman updates his talk on the history of South Norwood. With contributions from many local residents, John has developed a fascinating history of our local area. If you saw John give the talk in aid of the Christmas lights appeal then you will want to see it again as John has been hard at work developing new content. John is always a fun and fascinating talker so if you have not had the chance to see him speak before now is the time!

A night of great music from the shows of the West End brought to you by professional West End performers Jonathan Eio and Lisa Thorner and three recent graduates (Caroline Rogers, Beth Willets and Ashley Trow) of the prestigous Urdang Academy. Lisa is also the musical director of the West End Gospel Choir.

Catherine Pestano's Music Improvisation Workshop

Holy Innocents Church, Selhurst Road. From 6:00 pm. FREE!!!
Guitar under the bed? Flute in the attic? Dig out your old instruments and come along for a session of guided improvisation for beginners. All levels of player and singer welcome. No experience needed. If you can play even one note you can join in. Catherine Pestano will use a sequence of exercises called Search and Reflect to show you how you can create amazing music with other people and have a great time doing it. Suitable for age 8 upwards to 108!

Holy Innocents Open Days

TheHoly Innocents Church, Selhurst Road. 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. FREE!!!
Holy Innocents will be opening their doors to the public for three days culminating in a Fun Day on Saturday that will include stalls, games, snacks and a prayer flags display. Throughout the Open Days you will be able to view the entries to the "My South Norwood" photography competition, take part in art projects and events and you can even come down and make your own Prayer Flag.

Prayer Flag sessions run from from 11 - 4 each day and all the flags will be used to decorate the church on Saturday's Fun Day.
