 Thank you!

People for Portland Road would like to express our gratitude to local printers Christopher Gordon, based in Clifford Road.  Their generous support in providing free printing services for our business cards and letterhead paper is much appreciated.

Could your business provide support for our aims?  In our next newsletter we will be running a special Christmas competition.  Can you offer goods or services as a prize to help us raise funds? All types of prize, big or small, will be much appreciated and all donors will be mentioned in the newsletter.

What is on offer from your Portland Road business over the Christmas period?  Please let us know so that we can tell the local community.  Show your support for PPR and we will be able to continue to support you.

Diary dates for 2006

People for Portland Road will be holding Community Forum meetings for all members on:

Wednesday 8th February,

Tuesday 11th April (Also the AGM)

Wednesday June 14th

Supporting PPR

Membership of People for Portland Road is open to anyone committed to our aims, with a voluntary annual donation of £5 per residential household (£2 for those on a lower income) and £25 for organisations and businesses.  To join, please use the response form overleaf.

Have you given us your details but not made your donation?  Funds are vitally needed to cover our administration costs and to help us achieve charitable status.  Even if you don’t have time to spare to come along to our meetings, your donation will support the improvement and enhancement of the area.

October Community Forum

11th October 2005, 4pm and 7.30pm

Lower Assembly Room, Stanley Halls

What do you think the strengths and weaknesses of the area are?

How can we improve transport links to Portland Road?

What are your thoughts on car parking in the area?

How would you like Portland Road to look in the future?

The Community Forum meeting will be your opportunity to have your say on these and other subjects.

There will be two interactive forum sessions, at 4pm and at 7.30pm.  After a short presentation of ideas for improvement, you will have the chance to input into the regeneration strategy for the area before it goes for public consultation.  There will also be displays of design ideas for local buildings and new developments on Portland Road, including the proposed PPR office.

If you are already a member of PPR or have been to one of our meetings before, why not bring a friend or neighbour? New faces will be very welcome.  Together, we can shape the future of the Portland Road area.

Please use the response slip overleaf to let us know if you will be attending.
