UKULELES OF ROCK & RICHARD LAMY IS A DISGRACE

2 minutes from Harris at Stanley, pop in before Mark Steel and Kevin Day to pre-book your drinks and come after to see Ukuleles Of Rock; like Donington - but smaller! Classic hits as you have never heard them before. Richard Lamy Is A Disgrace: Balding, Bearded "specky-four-eyes" Richard Lamy (married) is a disgrace. With drunken bluesy murder ballads and growling rock and roll, Richard Lamy plays angry banjo and is sometimes as clever as he thinks he is.

- 4 O'clock Planes - glam punk; terremoto 9.6 - metallic assault; Inner Terrestrials - in their 18th year the ITs are a stomping mix of dub, punk, ska, folk and general danceability. With special guests, DJs, PA from Recknaw Sound, food from the famous Victory Rolls, drinks at club prices and more.

MIKE KNIGHT will lead the group on a gentle one hour’s walk round some of the 125 acres of wild areas, wet areas, bird sanctuary, lake, trees and plants; all part of South Norwood’s crowning asset. SPECIAL OFFER AT THE STAR CAFE, 216 Portland Road, for SNAF walkers: free cup of reviving post-walk tea or coffee with your food.

A DATE WITH HISTORY

EDWARD HANDLEY: A repeat of last year’s popular illustrated talk on “Handley’s Brickworks, Woodside.  JOHN HICKMAN:  Continuing his popular series “South Norwood Revisited,” looking back on life in South Norwood as seen in Norwood News.  ADRIAN FALKS:  "The Prince and the blind orphan from the Workhouse."   The story of Francis Campbell, and his journey from the American wilderness, to founding the Royal Normal College in Upper Norwood. An illustrated talk including rare images. CHRIS BENNETT:  “Through Twentieth Century Croydon in Film.”    The Senior Borough Archivist provides a rare glimpse of Croydon across the twentieth century through films from the Croydon Local Studies & Archives collection. Refreshments available for donation.

MEET THE AUTHORS

Croydon writer FARAHAD ZAMA on his charming and award winning novel "The marriage Bureau for Rich People". IAN BONE introduces The strange death of Pickles the world cup dog: A suitable case for Sherlock Holmes?. Plus HY MONEY whose book HY ON PALACE covers 40 years of CPFC history talks about her life and experiences in photography and Croydon.

CEMETERY WALK & TALK (meet by Harrington Road Tramstop) 

A look into the past to find some famous names and fascinating individuals in their final resting place, with JOHN HICKMAN, local historian. The chosen route is convenient for wheelchairs and, barring thunderstorms, the walk will proceed in all weathers.

SUNDAY 19 JUNE FINALE FAIR

WOODSIDE GREEN will be alive with activity throughout Sunday afternoon with hoards of STALLS providing an array of offerings: ARTS & CRAFTS, BRIC-A-BRAC, PLANTS, BOOKS & COMMICS, TOYS, JEWELLERY, HEALTH & BEAUTY ADVICE, CLOTHES, FOOD & DRINK with BARBEQUES and of course the PPR DRINKS TENT also selling tea & coffee.

ENTERTAINMENTS throughout the day, drawing of the SNAF raffle and the MY SOUTH NORWOOD competition prize giving. Other activities will include bouncy castle, wandering clowns, fire engine and fire fighters from Woodside fire station, solar powered eco cinema, and much more.

As well as a variety of performances from local schools and organisations, LIVE MUSIC on our very own pyramid stage will include; young up 'n' comers HOLMAN, Singer/Songwriter DAVID FISHER plays songs from his latest album "Honeytrap". South London rock combo THE EFFRAS with their original folk and country-infused tunes and FIREPIT COLLECTIVE bring traditional and contemporary acoustic folk and world music with a punky edge.

Special appearance from Miss Hepburnella, a leather and feather wrapped copy of a Ford Branton; the box van variant of the famous 1920’s Model T - the most stunning car you will ever see.

OZIM ZIM BAND

Closing the Festival in style, this celebrated band from Ghana bring their vibrant melodies to our own local piece of Africa.

WHEELS FOR WELLBEING
For the first time SNAF is fundraising for charity. All raffle tickets sold, entrance fees and donations made will be shared with WHEELS FOR WELLBEING

WHEELS FOR WELLBEING is a local charity which makes use of the Croydon Arena twice a week to give disabled people the chance to cycle. They
support disabled people to cycle in London. Whatever impairment, long term health condition or disability you have, they can help with your cycle query.
